- A Brief History -
The association was founded in September 1982 with a first meeting of twenty-two interested people at Burton Manor Adult Residential College. The meeting was organised by the late David Gould who became the driving force behind the expansion of the Association for the next ten years.

- The NWCA in 2011 -
In 2011, the Association is still going strong with members actively involved and good attendance at the monthly workshops (held at Bebington and Lower Withington) led by a variety of excellent tutors.
